Junk Market Visit

About a month ago, my friend, Rachel, and I headed to Fargo, ND for Eco Chic's Junk Market.  I mainly went because I needed a break from graduation party prep....ha!

This year the event was held in the Scheels Arena.  In years past it had been held in Eco Chic's parking lot, and last year, at the fairgrounds.  I will say I was disappointed with the layout of booths due to the Arena's structure.  Navigating down to the main floor was a bit confusing and traveling around the outside ring made it hard to run back to a booth quickly.

While the booths were beautiful, Rachel and I were both a bit disappointed in the amount of mass produced "re-pop" items versus true original "junk."  The booths I lingered in had true, unique, vintage items.

Here's a few more photos for you to look over!

Bedroom Makeover

Over two years ago, I was shopping in Heaven, aka, Junk Stock (Omaha, NE) and spotted these 2 lamps at the Nodding Goat Home booth.

Lightning struck and I thought they would look amazing in my bedroom since green is my favorite color.

It took awhile but I finally got a vision and collected new bedding and vintage furniture to complete the look.  I painted the walls with Versatile Gray from Sherwin Williams and had new carpeting installed.

I painted the dressers and headboard with General Finishes Milk Paint in Lamp Black.  The nightstands and blanket chest were done with a homemade chalky paint using Sherwin Williams Shamrock and glazing with General Finishes Van Dyke Brown glaze.

All in all, I'm pretty pleased with how it all turned out.  I think even Joanna Gaines would approve!  I'm calling it Farm House Fresh, and proved that farm house style doesn't have to mean white only.  I was able to pull it off using my personal favorite color, Emerald Green, so I think it can be done with yours!

Here's another last look at the before and after:

Bright and cheery desk

This waterfall desk was in sad shape when I bought it.  The finish was flaking off in spots and several little chips in the veneer.  I often buy the bargain 'scratch and dent' pieces that no one else wants because I know a little paint does wonders.

I have painted several desks since starting Seasoned Style...they are a great seller.  For this piece, I wanted something for a little girl's room.  I chose General Finishes Milk Paint in Linen and Coral Crush and found a fabric to tie it all together.

A few weeks after placing this piece in my booth, a little girl convinced her dad to buy it for her.  I hope she loves it for many years!

Empire Gray Credenza

Here is a quick before and after of my latest project.  This piece was a plastic/laminate cabinet with severe damage.  I painted it using General Finishes Chalk Style Paint in Empire Gray.  I think it definitely saved the piece from the trash!

I recently became a retailer for General Finishes Milk Paint and Chalk Style Paints.  I have used the milk paint line for years.  This is my first time using the chalk style paints and I can't wait to experiment more.
